With its close proximity to the city of Hobart, broad sections of gently sloping grass and parking accessibility, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is a popular venue for a wide variety of public events.

The grounds are suitable for music and theatre performances, festivals, concerts, exhibitions and community celebrations. While most such events are held during the day, the Gardens offers a venue for night-time activities too.

All events held at the Gardens are governed by legislation, guidelines and procedures designed to ensure the health and safety of the public and prevention of damage to the Gardens.

Event organisers proposing an event at the Gardens should contact the Gardens well in advance of the proposed date. A detailed written proposal will be required. If a proposal is accepted, the event organiser will be required to enter into a formal license agreement with the Gardens.

For more information, please contact the Gardens’ administration on 03 6166 0451.
