The Gardens are designed to be used by all visitors, from families with prams and young children, to the elderly and those with mobility impairments. We are open to all.

Wheelchairs: Hire is free and available from the Visitors Centre. Phone (03) 6166 0976 to book. We recommend booking in advance

Toilets: The Gardens are equipped with clean, modern toilet facilities, including disabled facilities at the Visitor Centre, the Easy Access Garden and adjacent to the gate at the lower car park.

Entrances: The Gardens’ has three entrances, the Main Gate on the Lower Domain Road, the Lower Car Park on the Derwent Highway, and the Northern Gate, are all designed to provide access to those with disabilities.

Parking: Parking bays are provided directly outside the Main Gates and on the lower Domain Road, please observe the council permit zones.

Events: Designated wheelchair spaces are made available for all Festivals and Events. Contact us to discuss access needs when booking tickets, phone (03) 6166 0455. Free wheelchair hire is available for events and designated wheelchair spaces are allowed for at all events.

Getting Around: Large sections of the Gardens are accessible to those in wheelchairs and with limited mobility. A map with those paths marked is available at the Gardens, or download it here.
